What You Need

Licenses

South Dakota is a lottery draw for non-residents. The applications for the lottery draw are usually available mid June and close in the beginning of July. We would be more than happy to assist you in this process to insure your best chances of successfully drawing your license. In addition to the Non-resident waterfowl license, you are also required to posses a Migratory Bird Certificate and Federal Duck Stamp

Residents are required to have a valid Small Game  License or Combination License as well as a Migratory Bird Certificate and Federal Duck Stamp

Weather Appropriate Clothing

Fall weather in South Dakota can be unpredictable so having clothing fit to keep you comfortable in the field is a must. Keep an eye on the weather leading up to your hunt and pack accordingly.

Shotgun Shells

Non-toxic ammunition is legally required. We recommend 3" or 3.5" shells and 3 shot, 2 shot, 1 shot, or BB. We also recommend bringing 2-3 boxes of shells for each day of your hunt.

Bird Cleaning

Our clients are responsible for cleaning their own birds. We offer a bird cleaning room as well as a chest freezer for bird storage during your hunt. Birds are legally required to have a fully feathered wing or head attached for transport until the bird arrives at the hunters place of residence. We recommend that you bring knives, 2 gallon ziplock bags, and a large cooler(s) for transporting the birds home.
